Miss Edna

I posted this painting of my mother last month. My mother is 91. She fell on Sunday and broke her hip and will have surgery this week. She lives in Arkansas. I will not be able to paint or post at this time. I ask for your prayers as she has many complications. Thank you. Sincerely, Nancy

Peanut Butter And Jelly

This woman reminds me of someone enjoying a quite moment on the beach, perhaps she is enjoying a sandwich while she watches the waves come in. 6x8 oil on board 2008 $110.00

I always wanted to be a dancer. When I was in college I took ballet, about 18 years too late! We had to dance in The Music Man. While I was struggling to learn the dance I heard the instructor say, "Oh God, that redhead is going to ruin the show!" I quickly learned the routine and luckily I didn't ruin the show but that ended my dancing career. This is a little fellow in New Orleans dancing for people in the street. 2008 6x8 oil on board $110.00

Little Spys Among Us 3

I like the bright light in this piece. I do plan to do more in this series but today I will move on to another subject. I am taking another workshop next week with Elio Camacho. This one will be a floral workshop, indoors. Thank goodness! My goal in my figurative work is to be loose and expressive and to still capture a realism of the subject. I wish I had the patience to paint a photo realistic piece but I don't, it makes me feel tense to try. When I look at other artists works and try to learn from studying them, I think wow they have their own signature style and I never felt I had that. Now, I think that I finally can see my own style coming through. Karin Jurick is my inspiration and mentor. I love her as a person and of course as an artist. She is just so gifted, it all comes natural and instinctive to her. 2008 8x10 oil on board $175.00

Little Spys Among Us 2

The second in the spy/binocular series. I always have a difficult time when I am painting a lot of grass. Difficult in that grass is boring to me and in the summer here in the south, if you are a plein air painter you (I) get sick of soooo much green. On the other hand it gives the artist a great opportunity to show creative brush strokes, light and different hues. 2008 8x10 oil on board $175.00 Purchase at

Miss Brooks Lonely Vacation

As I was painting this piece it began to take on a story to me. A story of a woman who has never married, she is British and perhaps has been a nanny and has spent her whole life in service to others. Now she is older and taking some time for herself. Where has time gone? She is alone on a beautiful island....The colors are subtle and soft in this painting. Giving it a vintage feeling. 8x10 oil on board 2008 $210.00

So That's A Speedo

An older women at the beach enjoying her day spy's her first speedo suit. Is she totally disgusted or enjoying the view? You decide. I added walnut oil to the paint mix and it flowed on so juicy. I really like the piece. This must be my aqua summer, because I can't get enough of it. 8x10 oil on board 2008 $200.00
