A Room With A View

A beautiful landscape just before the leaves turn and fall off to expose the harsh cold winter. Take a walk down the road through the village and back to the inn for a cup of tea and homemade blackberry scones. 6x8 oil on hardboard

Lonely In Venice

More and more I feel figurative work is the direction I need to go. I love plein air but to really enjoy landscapes or city scapes I need to incorporate people doing every day things in them. I am most happy when I am painting figures. This painting is 9x12 oil on hardboard.

A Man Reading A Newspaper from Different Strokes Blog

This is my version of the weekly painting submission to Different Strokes From Different Folks Blog from Karin Jurick. I am having so much fun participating in this weekly challenge. It is always amazing how Karin can choose a simple photo of an everyday person and Interpret it into a special painting. I think the white edge is too white around the bottom of the newspaper so I will correct that later. 5x7 oil on board $110.00

Nancy Chaboun Workshop

This is a quick study I painted during a Nancy Chaboun workshop. We worked from a beautiful live model. I am sorry I have not gotten back into the swing of posting new paintings to my blog. It has been a hard couple of months. Life happens. I may go back and paint a more finished piece from this study. Nancy Chaboun is a wonderful teacher from Scottsdale, Arizona. She is so knowledgeable and fun. NFS 9x12 oil

Dear Jack

My dear friend Karin Jurick lost her sweet friend Jack. Leave it to Karin to make something so painful into something positive and including others with her generosity. Karin introduced a new blog this week Different Strokes From Different Folks where she posts a photo and invites other artists to interpret it and send the results to her to publish on the blog. The first photo is of her baby Jack who recently passed after a brave fight with his illness. Isn't this the most wonderful idea? 6x6 oil on hardboard $125.00 ( the money from the sale of this painting will be donated to our humane society here in Huntsville,Al. in memory of Jack Jurick) http://differentstrokesfromdifferentfolks.blogspot.com
