The Best Canvas

Remember being uninhibited when creating art, just having fun? As an adult those are the days I love the most the days that I just let it flow freely. 8x10 oil on raymar board.

Plum Line

I really tried to capture the deep burgundy color of the plums. Of course they aren't that reflective in real life so I had to create the reflection and the highlights are brighter than they were from the light. 6x6 oil of gessoed ampersand board. $110

Cloud Gate Sculpture

The weekly challenge painting from Different Strokes From different Folks http://differentstrokesfromdifferentfolks.blogspot.com/

I was hesitant about this challenge because it looked difficult but it was really so much fun. KISS=keep it simple stupid! Something I kept saying to myself while painting. 8x10 oil on hard board

Have You Seen The Little Figgys?

Brush strokes! So fun to create with bold brush strokes. This painting has a very contemporary look to it. 8x10 oil on hardboard.
I hate prep work but it has to be done. I am preparing panels for painting by gluing linen to the surface. I am experimenting with gatorboard and also using birch panels. Although it takes up time I think it is worth it in money saved. My husband cut the gatorboard and birch for me in various sizes. I bought primed linen at Jerry's Artarama with a 40% off coupon. Cutting the linen is the biggest hassle. But I will have loads of beautiful panels to paint on. WooHoo!
