Concentrated Limeade

I wish you could really see how thick and juicy the paint and brush strokes are in this painting.I think I am trying to outsmart light deprivation syndrome with the color choices on my palette lately by creating these fresh spring like colored paintings. I love these goblets and I don't use them much because I am afraid one will get broken, the glass is very fragile. So painting them is the next best thing to using them. I plan on doing a really large painting on black gesso of one of these goblets. 11x14 oil on gessoed hardboard. c2009

Daddy and Me

As I was painting this from an old vintage photo (although this is not a painting of my dad and me), I noticed how much the little girl looked like I did when I was young. My dad was a sign painter and our shop was on the town square. One special birthday he took me by the hand and we walked over to the Western Auto Store and he bought me a beautiful blue westernflyer bicycle. I was so excited and happy. I could barely reach the pedals but I rode my bike around the town square buzzing my little bike horn so everyone would see me and my new bike. Things like that were hard to come by for a sign painter in a small town supporting a wife and six kids so I really know how my dad sacrificed for me to have that bike so I could be like the other kids in the neighborhood. My dad sadly passed away the summer of my 12th birthday and the memory of that day is one of my fondest. My inspiration and certainly my painterly eye comes from my dad. Thank you Daddy! 9x12 oil on linen on gatorboard. c2008

This is a small oil that has a big presence. So much texture. Sometimes the paint just flows from the brush and it was like the brush took over. 6x6 oil on hardboard.

Hard Cider

I love my new turquoise dishes from target and I am having fun painting them. I am a die hard braeburn apple fan but these empires are pretty good as well. The colors in them are so lush and brilliant. Who couldn't resist painting them?

New Generation Of Hope

Today is inauguration day as we usher in a new generation, a president who is young and our country is putting a lot of hope on his shoulders, a very historic day to celebrate. This painting to me represents a new generation of hope balancing on what has been created by our elders and ancestors. 8x14inches oil on linen on top of gatorboard. c 2008 SOLD

Although the photo looks blurry. It is not. the painting is done n a very impressionistic style with loose brush work.

I really tried to work on color harmony here. I finally bought a descent light to light my still lifes. It made a big difference for me. 9x12 0il on linen on gatorboard. c 2008
