This is a meadow on top of a beautiful mountain in Alabama near a quaint little village called Mentone. I push myself to paint landscapes because I feel they are my weakest paintings. My love is figurative work but I love being outside and painting en plein air and it is a challenge. 9x12 oil on linen.

I am having anxiety over a figurative commission I am working on. I feel almost frozen and I don't know where it is coming from. It must be the pressure I am putting on myself to paint an wonderful painting for the client. I keep telling myself paint just like any other day when you are painting for yourself. I hope this passes soon! Does anyone else out there ever feel this way?
