The Dance

There is always a busy dance going on at Cafe Du Monde in New Orleans. One can imagine how chaotic it must get in the kitchen every day. This is a piece that I hope conveys the movement of the scene with all of the necessary elements. Bold brush strokes and color. 9x12 oil on hardboard c 2010. Available at Renaissance Art Gallery.

Thanks Anthony. sometimes it is hard to capture the action and have each figure have their own movement but still work. I had hoped the white would show the bright fluorescent lighting in a commercial kitchen. I appreciate your kind comments.

I love this painting, Nancy, and I love Cafe Du Monde's beignets.

Thanks Vern, it is rewarding when another artist friend notices your efforts as a painter!

Thank you Edward, A beignet a day keeps the blues away!

You can just sense the chaos of this busy kitchen by your painting. Good job.

I hadn't thought of the Cafe Du Monde in a l-o-n-g time. You captured the kitchen frenzy just right!

Thanks BJ. I find that painting the business of a situation is really a challenge. But it adds so much movement and life to a painting. Thanks for stopping by.

Thanks so much Lokelani, It is difficult to capture the frenzy but so much fun! I appreciate your visit.

Ohmygosh Nancy, I'm only seeing this awesome painting now - not turning on the computer doesn't help!

You've so captured that buzz and hectic activity in a restaurant kitchen - it's terrific.
