Lip Service Brigade by Nancy Rhodes Harper

I don't know about you but I love to buy lipstick. It never seems to stay on very long, it just disappears but the main reason I buy it is because I love the colors! I go to the makeup counter and look at all of the luscious colors and I can't resist. I will never tell how many tubes I have and if you ask I will totally deny that I have any. It is one of those things I like to keep as a mystery! 6x6 oil on panel ©2010 $100.00 plus s/h contact Nancy Rhodes Harper if interested. Thanks for looking.
No. 12 in my Sept. painting marathon series.

Great to see so many lipsticks in one spot - besides the make-up counter! Good composition and colors. Well done!

I love lipstick too! I end up wearing the same color over and over though, even though I tend to keep buying other colors! This painting has some lovely colors in it!

Nancy, I just realized that lipstick is just big girl crayons! You are an artist and no wonder you love them. This is a winner of a painting, love those reds!

Fun painting Nancy! When I need a pick me up it usually involves a new tube of lipstick...I don't think I would admit to how many I have either!

Nancy,
I'm with you. I love the colors. I can't stay away...pinks and peaches are my favorite. The color brightens my face and my day.
Love the painting.

Nancy, I also have a thing for lipstick, I'm the same way with nail polish too! This is a really fun painting, I love the composition and the tips of the lipsticks are wonderful! You've captured that creamy thick texture!!

Lipstick is sorta like shoes. You need one for every outfit! Your painting has such great texture and rhythm with the repetion of the tubes. Beautiful!

Karen, Isn't it funny how we paint with the same colors we buy in makeup and clothes? I tend to see things in nature as cooler colors as compared to warmer. Thanks a bunch Karen.

Thanks Debbie, it is that thick luscious color in the tubes that is so attractive to wear and paint! Thanks for your kind words.
