Leiper's Crossing by Nancy Rhodes Harper

One of my favorite places to visit is Leiper's Fork, Tn. A small historic town outside of Historic Franklin, Tn. Great Leiper's Creek Art Gallery, Puckett's Grocery where you can get a genuine fried bologna sandwich with mayo on white bread! I love to paint people caught in a single moment in time. Crossing the street, walking away, whatever the scene, people make it for me. 6x6 oil on hardboard ©2011 Thanks for looking!

You have conveyed the bright/warm sunlight so well in this piece.

Ha! Y'all love those blue jeans also! They are outstanding...You did great on the whole thing- amazes me how big this feels and it is 6 X 6!

Love the casual stance and that you caught a second of normal life.
And your red truck is hot (but surprised so many daily bloggers are painting trucks and cars these days)!

Wow! You managed to beautifully pack a lot of information in that tiny space.

Nancy, this is such a striking piece! You've captured the light of a bright day beautifully. Love the pop of rich orange warmth in the woman's jacket.

You really got a lot of information in a very small format. The compostion is good and great job in capturing the light. Well done!

I really like this painting. The woman on the left just draws you in. It feel like she is looking at us. I love the bright reds and the beautiful long shadows.

Thanks for all of your kind words. I find I am most comfortable painting in a small 6x6 format, it is what I started with when I started Daily Painting Studies in 2007. Your support keeps me going!

Thanks Deb, Thanks Deb for your kind words. I totally understand about the bologna and white bread, It is a child hood thing in the south. Not good for you at all.
