Maple Hill by Nancy Rhodes Harper

I painted in our historic cemetery last Saturday. The beautiful old headstones and monuments have something that can't be reproduced today. The patina, the designs so beautiful showing how much the families loved ones meant to those left behind. The cemetery was a peaceful place to paint and the reverence I felt for those resting at Maple Hill was all encompassing. 8x10 oil on linen ©2011 NFS at this time.

Serene Nancy. Cemeteries are one of my favorite painting places too. Especially love your dappled light reflections!

The light scattered throughout this painting is very interesting. You definately captured the feeling of the peaceful surroundings and the elegance of the headstones.

I also love the light scattered on this one. Very comforting and feels like somewhere I would like to relax. Just wonderful!
